ANOTHER FORREST INJURY BLOW?

James Forrest waited so long to get himself back into the Celtic squad after suffering an unspecified knock in August. The Scotland international was just starting to find some regular game time too, so he will be gutted after limping off at Tannadice at half-time. It remains to be seen what the problem was for Forrest, but he appeared to be clutching his hamstring late in the first period. Forrest is not only a different option out wide for Celtic, but he has also been a miss for Scotland. Hopefully his substitution was for precaution only.

JOTA OUT FOR A WHILE

Ahead of the match in Dundee, Ange Postecoglou confirmed that Jota will be out for a number of weeks after picking up a hamstring knock against Hearts. The Portuguese man has been in scintillating form for the Hoops so he will be a huge miss. Mikey Johnston stepped into his shoes and did impress against United. The Scotland youngster will have a big opportunity to showcase his talents while Jota is out and his manager appears to have plenty of faith in him. Postecoglou also confirmed that Anthony Ralston and Stephen Welsh’s injuries were not as serious as first feared in his pre-match interview. So, some positive news on the injury front too.

ROGIC THE MAGICIAN

Tom Rogic opened the scoring at Tannadice with a piece of magic. The Aussie ace danced his way through the Dundee United defence before curling beyond Benjamin Siegrist. It was a stunning goal and could well be up for the goal of the season awards come the end of the campaign. Rogic has looked a rejuvenated player under his fellow countryman Ange Postecoglou, and he could play a key role if Celtic are to lift silverware this season. After Rogic was replaced by Nir Bitton in the 70th minute there was a clear lack of a killer ball in the final third. Rogic so often holds the key to the Hoops finding the back of the net.
