ANDY HALLIDAY reckons Leigh Griffiths should have been sent off against Rangers last weekend.
The Celtic striker, who is currently on loan at Dens Park, was introduced from the bench at Ibrox on Saturday was quickly shown a yellow card for a late challenge on Joe Aribo.
The tackle enraged the Rangers players and Griffiths then fouled Calvin Bassey moments later and was lucky to escape a second booking from referee Alan Muir.
Halliday reckons the Scotland international should have walked.
Asked if Griffiths should have seen a second yellow, Halliday told Open Goal: “Aye. He should have.
“To be fair I think he only made two fouls when he came on and he obviously got booked for the first one.
“I think the second one definitely warranted a second yellow card.
“To be fair, I know it doesn’t make an excuse for the referees, but it was never going to effect the outcome of the game.
“I don’t want to see players suspended, I would rather see eleven vs eleven.”
