ROSS COUNTY have launched an investigation into 'sectarian behaviour' which took place among a section of their support in their 2-1 defeat to Celtic on Wednesday night.

A video emerged in the aftermath of the game which highlighted members of the Staggies support who aimed sectarian language at Celtic's players after the winning goal.

Anthony Ralston nodded home in the 97th-minute to nick all three points for Ange Postecoglou's ten-men.

A pitch invasion for several Hoops fans followed amid the wild celebrations in the away stand.

But at the opposite end of the stadium, sectarian behaviour could be heard in the home side's singing section.

The Dingwall club have issued an update on the situation, as they try to find those responsible.

A club statement reads: "Ross County Football Club are aware of an incident of sectarian behaviour which occurred within our Singing Section after Celtic scored the winning goal on Wednesday night.

"We strongly condemn this type of discriminatory behaviour and language, which has no place in football or wider society.

"We are working to identify the individuals involved and will take the strongest possible action against them.

"An investigation is underway within the club and Police Scotland have been notified with a view to carrying out a criminal investigation.

"Any supporter who was present in that area of the ground and has information or recordings that can assist this investigation should contact the club."
