MICHAEL STEWART believes Hibs should've had a penalty late in the Premier Sports Cup final versus Celtic.

Ange Postecoglou's side ran out 2-1 winners at Hampden this afternoon thanks to a superb double from Kyogo.

The victory sealed the club's first trophy under the Australian's guidance.

The game wasn't the best in terms of quality, but was full of excitement and talking points.

One of them was a last-gasp penalty claim for Hibs.

Ryan Porteous went down in the box under the attention of Carl Starfelt - who endured a poor game.

And Scottish football pundit Stewart believes it looked to be a stonewaller, with whistler John Beaton getting the decision wrong.

Asked about the contentious moment, Stewart told Premier Sports: "Well, I said it in commentary - to me it looks pretty stonewall. I don't know about everybody else.

"That doesn't take away from the fact that Nisbet off the post is disappointing, but Paul Hanlon has got to score. It's a guilt-edged opportunity.

"For me, Carl Starfelt has two hands on the back of Ryan Porteous and pushes him down. I know there is immediate action after it, so the Hibs players are getting involved. Porteous complains a little bit but nobody else is really adamant or demonstrating with John Beaton.

"Personally I think that's a penalty kick. It's a moment that's gone against them.

"You can't take away from the fact that regardless of whether it's a penalty or it's not, Hanlon has to put it in the net.

"He's got to score. I know it's on his right foot but you can't miss opportunities like that.

"It's those little things along with the two goals which are avoidable that. You can't pass up opportunities like that to come away with winning a trophy."

Host Emma Dodds then brought up a Celtic penalty shout from the first-half, where Greg Taylor went down at the near post after a corner.

Stewart continued: "When I first saw that I didn't think there was a great deal in it.

"I thought he'd been caught by his heel. McGinn does have his hand on his back. To me, the Ryan Porteous one is more clear-cut than Taylor's one.

"Is there bodies in the way so John Beaton doesn't see it? I don't know.

"In that little moment, that's the game there. If you're able to get that it fills you full of confidence and belief."
