HIBS star Paul McGinn has taken a swipe at referee John Beaton after Kyogo's winner for Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup final.

The defender blasted the whistler for having "no control" as he shared his disappointment as Kyogo slammed home from a long ball over the top.

McGinn was aggrieved by the decision to call a foul against Paul Hanlon in the build-up before insisting a sub was being readied as the goal went in.

The Hibs full-back claimed the incident was only allowed to go without being pulled back as it was Celtic in a blunt "black-and-white" assessment.

But he went on to admit his side should've defended the chance better as Celtic went on to claim the Premier Sports Cup trophy.

McGinn, emotional after the defeat, told Premier Sports: "Just a bit sore about a couple of decisions.

"Fair play to Kyogo, he's a killer, he's on the move at all times and his movement especially for the second one is really good.

"But for the second one the fourth official has the board in his hand so we are all expecting a sub. It's not a foul for starters and then we're expecting the sub to be made.

"If that was Hibs that put the ball in and we're through on goal, he would call it back 100 per cent. But for us obviously just lets Celtic go and score.

"90 seconds after it Ralston takes a quick throw-in and there's a sub ready, he blows it back to let the sub be made. It's all there in black-and-white for me.

"I think you'll see me getting booked directly after it. I don't know what was said maybe just a 'get away'.

"Celtic had plenty of the ball and plenty of chances, I can't complain. We should still defend them better, that's one of the rules to play until the whistle has gone.

"I actually asked John Beaton I said: 'Was there a whistle to play?'. There was no control over the situation.

"He was just like: 'You've been in the game a long time you know I don't need to whistle' or whatever, something along they lines.

"It's not even a good passage of play from Celtic it's one straight ball over the top so that's hurting us. It's just a bit raw as you can tell."
