HIBS caretaker boss David Gray slammed the decisions in the "big moments" as his side fell to a 2-1 defeat to Celtic at Hampden.

The Easter Road icon questioned John Beaton's calls in key moments as Celtic claimed the Premier Sports Cup trophy.

Gray was left bemused when his side were denied a penalty as Ryan Porteous hit the turf in the box under challenge from Carl Starfelt.

He branded the collision as a "blatant push", but during the match whistler John Beaton waved play on.

And the manager referenced the decision to award Celtic a foul which led to their second goal in his complaints over the call.

Speaking to Premier Sports after the Hampden showpiece final disappointment, he said: "I think there were big moments in the game.

"For the life of me I can't really understand how even for their second goal, again I think we defended very, very poorly for it but, I don't understand how it is a foul in the first place to be honest.

"He gives a foul for that, I don't understand that but then how he can miss the penalty in the last sort of minute with Porteous, I think if one is a foul...

"I think it's a blatant push in the box so disappointed with that, these are things that happen in football and obviously we need to defend better."
