CELTIC won't head abroad for a warm weather training camp during the winter break, Ange Postecoglou has confirmed.
The club regularly head to Dubai for training in January, but they'll stay at Lennoxtown this year amid rising Omicron Covid cases.
Postecoglou confirmed he and his players would remain in Glasgow as he spoke of the "unnecessary risk" travelling could put on the squad.
The Parkhead boss went on to detail the winter break as a "valuable time" for preparing players for the second half of the season.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Postecoglou confirmed: "Yeah. We will do our work here. It makes sense.
"We have to use our time wisely and not put unnecessary risk on our players or on the club.
"It’s valuable time to get the team up and ready for the second part of the year and it makes sense to stay here."
The winter break has been brought forward to begin immediately following the fixtures on Boxing Day after pleas from clubs.
Scottish Premiership chiefs at the SPFL ruled that the break be moved forward after new restrictions on fan capacity were imposed by the Scottish Government.
The curbs will see just 500 spectators at the Boxing Day matches but it's hoped there will be an easing of capacity restrictions in the three-week review of the circuit-breaker before football returns from the temporary hiatus.
