NEW Celtic man Yosuke Ideguchi has revealed that he would like to be known as 'Guchi' by Hoops supporters after making his move to Glasgow.

The 25-year-old joined the Parkhead club from Gamga Osaka on a four-and-half-year contract, and is hoping to add further style to the Hoops midfield.

'Guchi' was one of three players who joined Celtic at the start of the January window, along with Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate.

And speaking to the Celtic View, he revealed how big a role Ange Postecoglou played in his move to Scotland.

He said: “When I was in Japan, I watched his team and I was interested in the style, so I’m excited to be able to join his team.

“I’ve spoken to the manager and he said that he’s looking for me bring my style of play to the team.

"It certainly helps me in joining Celtic to have Daizen and Reo here are well, and I’m hoping to contribute to the team along with them."

Guchi, who has been capped 15 times by Japan, was also full of praise for Celtic's star man Kyogo after his stunning start to the season.

“Kyogo is already contributing to the team,” he said, “So, like Kyogo, I want to be able to contribute to the team, although our playing styles are different.

“How Kyogo is playing is already big news in Japan. I respect him and I’m really looking forward to playing with him, along with my other team-mates.”
