CELTIC youngster Ewan Henderson has joined Hibs on loan with a permanent move agreed for the summer.

The 21-year-old has joined the Easter Road club on a temporary deal until the end of the season when he'll make the move full-time on a three-year deal.

Shaun Maloney landed the midfielder despite reported interest from Italy after he was told he could leave Celtic in the summer.

Henderson is no stranger to Maloney after the starlet progressed through the Celtic youth academy before making a handful of appearances.

The midfielder also counts loans at Dunfermline and Ross County in his experience ahead of the Hibs switch.

It's Maloney's second bit of business so far in the January transfer window with Elias Melkerson joining from Bodo/Glimt yesterday.

On the signing of Henderson, Maloney commented:: “Ewan is an extremely talented player. He has superb awareness and vision, he’s creative and will provide assists.

“He’s a player I really want to help to develop so he can show the league the talent he has.

“As a Club, we look forward to helping Ewan develop so he can achieve his potential over the coming years.”
