CELTIC are against taking Leigh Griffiths back from Dundee before the end of the season, according to reports.

The Scotland international has spent the first half of the season at Dens Park, but he has only netted two goals in fourteen games.

As a result, it is understood that Dundee are keen to send Griffiths back to his parent club, but the Scottish Sun say that Celtic are against the proposition.

The report states that talks are ongoing between the three parties and it remains to be seen where Griffiths will end up.

The 31-year-old is entering the last three months of his Parkhead contract and looks certain to leave for good in the summer.

Meanwhile, Celtic midfielder Liam Shaw has moved to Motherwell for the remainder of the season.

The versatile player, who can be deployed in defence or midfield, joined the Glasgow club from Sheffield Wednesday in a £300,000 transfer back in June.

However, the 20-year-old has only featured twice for Ange Postecoglou’s side during the 2021/22 campaign and is keen to get game time.

He made his debut in the Europa League group game against Real Betis at Parkhead last month and then came on in the cinch Premiership match against St Mirren in Paisley.
