CELTIC striker Leigh Griffiths is set to be released by the Parkhead club, according to reports.
The 31-year-old striker moved to Dens Park on a season-long loan this summer but has failed to make the grade, with chiefs on Tayside apparently 'deeply upset' with the former Scotland internationalist's contribution to the first team.
Griffiths has made 14 appearances in all competitions at Dundee, scoring twice, but will soon be on the lookout for a new club with Celtic set to rup up his contract.
The centre-forward signed an extension last summer to keep him at Parkhead until the end of this season but according to the Daily Record, that deal is about to be cancelled and Griffiths will become a free agent.
The Record add that the decision was made last week and that Griffiths has been informed.
Griffiths will remain at Dens Park until the end of the January window and will then be without a club. James McPake will keep the striker until the end of the transfer window before deciding whether to offer a long-term contract.
