RANGERS have released a statement insisting that the upcoming Harry Styles concert that will be held at Ibrox won't seriously affect the pitch in Govan.

The pop star announced a tour of Europe and Central and South America, which will kick off at Ibrox on Saturday 11 June.

As part of a statement informing fans of the gig, the club addressed concerns over the effect of the concert on the turf at Ibrox.

However, Rangers insist that they will work with 'industry leaders in pitch-covering technology' to ensure it 'remains in top playing condition'.

"As a club, Rangers are hugely proud of the quality of our playing surface and take its protection and care extremely seriously," the statement read

"We also understand some supporters may have concerns around staging a concert at Ibrox.

"Working closely with the ground staff has been essential in making this possible.

"We have spoken with many domestic and national clubs and industry leaders in pitch covering technology, and will only ever work with the most professional promoters who share our values in ensuring that pitch maintenance and events are timed to ensure that the pitch remains in top playing condition."
