JACK FITZWATER would be on his way to Newcastle before the end of January, according to a report.

The Livingston defender could be set for a dream move to the Premier League in the January window.

The Daily Mail report that Eddie Howe’s side are targeting a swoop for the 24-year-old, as they look to strengthen ahead of the second-half of the season.

The report also states that fellow relegation rivals Burnley and Watford are interested in the centre-back.

Fitzwater has made 46 appearances for the Lions since joining in 2020.

And 28 of them have come in this campaign so far, showing how important he is to David Martindale’s men.

Scouts from the EPL and Championship who have watched the player in recent weeks are said to be have been impressed with what they’ve witnessed.

But Livingston will not part with their key defender on the cheap – with the Mail saying they will seek to earn £1million from the deal.
