RANGERS kid Alex Lowry can make it to top; that's according to agent Des McKeown who gushed over the teen's Ibrox outings.

Lowry, 18, made his debut in the Scottish Cup win over Stirling Albion as he inspired Rangers to victory with a dream goal on his first appearance for the senior team.

And Giovanni van Bronckhorst showed his faith in the midfielder as he started in the 1-0 win over Livingston last night.

Now agent McKeown has tipped Lowry to make it far in the game if continues to apply himself and gets a bit of luck along the way.

Speaking to Lanarkshire Live Sport after Lowry's dream week, 360 Sports Consultancy director McKeown said: “We are delighted that, first of all, the manager has included him in training and then been brave enough to give him the opportunity against Stirling Albion.

“There were more experienced players on the bench who people may have thought would have been ahead of Alex in terms of getting on.

“We were really delighted he got the opportunity to get on. His performance was terrific given it was his first involvement.

"I thought he might have been introduced with Rangers being 2-0 or 3-0 up. So it was a wee bit of a surprise but we are delighted all the same.”

After an exciting week for the young midfielder the challenge for McKeown is to continue the rapid progress after the introduction to a first-team environment.

But he reckons Lowry is more than capable of making the grade if he continues his development as he raved over Lowry's talent and potential.

He added: “We’ve worked with him for about three years.

“He’s been at Rangers since he was young kid. He can do things other people can only dream about. He just needs some luck along the way and he needs to apply himself right. There’s not a huge amount to him but he will fill out. He’s worked hard on that.

“Now it’s down to what he does on the pitch. Talent on its own won’t get him to where his potential could possibly take him. That’s something everyone is drilling into him. His talent can take him anywhere.”
