GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST has confirmed his intention to offer Scott Arfield a new contract to remain at Ibrox next season.

The midfielder's current deal is due to expire at the end of the campaign and he is free to speak with other clubs over a potential Bosman exit.

Arfield stepped off the bench to provide a moment of magic that proved the difference against Livingston on Wednesday night.

And the former Canadian internationalist is now set for contract talks as Rangers aim to tie him down on an extended deal this term.

Van Bronckhorst said: "Scott has been really important for the team, not only this season but all the seasons before as well.

"He is an experienced player and he is definitely a player I want to have longer to be at Rangers. Hopefully we can welcome him next season as well."
