TALKSPORT pundit Simon Jordan is refusing to get carried away with reports linking Aaron Ramsey with a deadline day move to Rangers.

Juventus are prepared to accept the Ibrox club's offer for the out-of-favour Wales international, whose contract in Turin runs until the summer of 2023.

The likes of Wolves, Burnley and Newcastle have also been credited with interest in the 31-year-old former Arsenal midfielder.

Jordan told talkSPORT: "Ramsey going to Rangers economically doesn't make sense to me, because if you listen to the rumours Rangers don't have that much money.

"If you put that into the equation you wonder how they're going to afford his wages.

"But if the player is prepared to play and not ask for a ridiculous salary, you can see it.

"The bottom line is you wonder how Rangers, with all due respect to them, are going to want to pay a significant part of that salary.

"On paper it looks like a great signing but financially I struggle to see why Rangers would want to do it."

Rangers could be busy with reports claiming the Scottish champions are close to a deal for 20-year-old Lechia Gdansk right-back Mateusz Zukowski.

The Ibrox club could yet decide to go back in for pre-contract signing John Souttar following a failed bid around 10 days ago.
