RANGERS are set to clinch a deal to sign Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
Herald and Times Sport reported on Monday morning that the champions were keen to land the Welshman on loan.
And Ramsey is now poised to put pen-to-paper on a move from Serie A and spearhead Rangers’ Premiership title defence this term.
The 31-year-old and his representatives have arrived in Glasgow to put the finishing touches on a sensational swoop.
The former Arsenal star is out of favour in Turin and Giovanni van Bronckhorst has fended off Premier League interest to get a deadline day deal over the line.
Juventus will heavily subside Ramsey’s huge weekly wage packet during his time in Glasgow as he aims for regular first team football following a frustrating time on the continent.
The champions will have an option to extend Ramsey’s stay at Ibrox come the end of the campaign after striking a loan to buy arrangement with Juve.
Van Bronckhorst has added James Sands and Amad Diallo to his squad already this month as he aims to deliver the top flight title.
Now the arrival of Ramsey has given the Light Blues a major boost ahead of the Old Firm clash with Celtic on Wednesday night.
