CELTIC have announced the club are addressing comments made by Kris Boyd in relation to Callum McGregor.
Parkhead chiefs have revealed they're looking into remarks made by the former Rangers striker after McGregor featured with a protective face mask.
The Celtic skipper returned to the line-up for the visit of rivals Rangers and played through the derby with a mask protecting his face after suffering a fractured cheekbone against Alloa.
And Boyd had questioned how the Scotland international played the match "without anyone testing the face mask" in his Scottish Sun column.
His comments read: “Look at Celtic. Callum McGregor played with a fractured cheekbone.
"The fact he managed to get through the 90 minutes without anyone testing out that face mask is another story, but his commitment to the team was tremendous.”
Celtic are now addressing the comments as they confirmed the news on Twitter.
A tweet read: "With regards to comments made by former professional footballer Kris Boyd concerning Callum McGregor's injury, we can confirm that the matter is currently being addressed by the club."
