RANGERS midfielder Aaron Ramsey admits he couldn't wait to clamber off the bench and make his debut against Hearts - because of the raucous Ibrox atmosphere.
The Welshman arrived on loan from Juventus on deadline day and was named as a substitute for Sunday's Premiership clash with Robbie Neilson's side.
The playmaker was brought on for the final 15 minutes by Giovanni van Bronckhorst as the champions strolled to a 5-0 victory.
Ramsey was pleased to make his bow as the stands were in full party mode as he offered his take on the Rangers squad.
"It was a good one to come in on," he said. "The boys did really well and I'm happy to make my debut in front of that atmosphere.
"Hopefully now I can play a lot more and get my fitness up quickly and really get going here.
"There is a lot of talent in this team and they showed that a few times, and scored some fantastic goals. Hopefully I can fit right in."
"I was itching to get on - and kept looking over because the warm-up was going on a bit," he laughed. "It's good to get some minutes in the legs.
"We've got a brief plan of how we are going to [build up my fitness]. It was the plan today to get some minutes in the legs, 15-20 minutes.
"It's good to be back out there. I haven't played a lot of football, I think the last one was November, so it's good to be back out on the pitch."
