KIERAN TIERNEY has emerged as a transfer target for Real Madrid, according to a report.

The Arsenal left-back could potentially sign for Los Blancos in the summer window.

The ex-Celtic star is the Gunners' first-choice on the left of Mikel Arteta's defence.

He signed at the Emirates for a record-breaking £25million from Celtic in the summer of 2019.

And after overcoming a hernia injury in his early days in England, he has taken the Premier League by storm, as well as becoming a vital cog in Steve Clarke's Scotland side.

Now, Spanish outlet El Espanol say Real Madrid are watching Tierney closely.

Marcelo has been outstanding at the Bernabeu for over a decade at the La Liga giants.

But Real are looking for his long-term replacement, with Ferland Mendy their only other alternative as things stand.

The report states that Tierney's price tag could be as much as £50million.

It is unknown exactly what kind of sell-on clause Celtic secured as part of their deal to sell the player to Arsenal, but they could be in line to benefit from a move.

His contract isn't up at Arsenal until 2026.

Other options for Los Merengues include RB Leipzig’s Angeliño, formerly of Man City and Valencia’s Jose Gaya.
