MARCO ROSE will seek to silence striker Alfredo Morelos and stop Rangers' record European scorer adding to his tally at Ibrox.

Morelos netted twice during the 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund last week and will now aim to fire the champions into the last 16 of the Europa League.

The Colombian is in a fine run of scoring form at present and boss Rose is well aware of the threat that Morelos will carry during the second leg showdown.

Rose said: “He’s a good player. He’s physically strong and knows how to use his body. He knows where the goal is, he has good movement and he is brave.

“He is not so tall but he is very brave and he was very difficult for our defenders to defend last week.

“I like his style and his mentality and he is scoring. We saw it in the league, we had prepared for these games, and I hope on Thursday he will not have such a good day.

“He deserves this record but [on Thursday] he should stop scoring more!”

Morelos will lead the line for Rangers at Ibrox as he seeks to add to his 28 goal tally in continental competition for the champions.

But Dortmund will once again be without their main attacking threat after striker Erling Haaland was ruled out of the Ibrox clash as he continues his recovery from a lengthy injury absence.

Rose said: “Erling is still quite a bit away from being 100 per cent. He’s doing what he can to get back, but we have to be careful and make sure he’s not in pain anymore.

“We have to make sure he doesn’t get injured again. Regarding the candidates for Thursday, Youssoufa Moukoko has shown good performances lately.

"It’s good that he’s finally been fit for a while. He has scored so he might be an option."
