We won't freeze in Arctic Circle - Postecoglou

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has dismissed concerns about the extreme weather facing his Celtic players in Bodo tonight, despite Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen warning that they will face the worst conditions they have ever experienced in the Arctic Circle.

There will be sub-zero temperatures at kick-off in the Aspmyra Stadium for their UEFA Conference League tie, with a windchill of -13 degrees Celsius and snow is also forecast.

Knutsen feels that may give his side an advantage over their opponents, with Celtic deciding not to train in Bodo prior to the game, but Postecoglou doesn’t believe that will be a factor in the outcome.

“Nah mate, we’ll be alright,” Postecoglou said. “I think people get a little bit carried away with this type of stuff.

“Trust me, I was involved with the national team mate and we went from playing in zero degrees to 45 degrees humidity in the middle east in 24 hours, so I know all about it."

Celtic need to be 'perfect' says Callum McGregor

CALLUM MCGREGOR says it will take the perfect performance from Celtic if they are to overcome their two-goal deficit against Bodo/Glimt tonight and progress to the last 16 of the UEFA Conference League.

Ange Postecoglou’s side were stunned by the Norwegian champions at Celtic Park last week as they fell to a 3-1 defeat, and travel to the Arctic Circle with it all to do in the second leg of the tie.

McGregor takes heart from the goals that Celtic have scored on their travels on the continent so far this season, but knows they can’t afford the defensive lapses that have also been punished severely when taking on European opposition, shipping 15 goals in six away matches so far.

When asked if Celtic would have to be perfect at each end to go through, McGregor said: “Yes, I think so. We can’t afford to make mistakes. We have to score three and be perfect at the back."
