ALFREDO MORELOS has landed a Colombia international call up for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Venezuela.

The Rangers striker was involved in the last squad for his country but he was not given the nod to be involved in matches against Argentina and Peru.

This resulted in a nightmare trip for Morelos, who missed Rangers' Premiership clash against Celtic, where Ange Postecoglou's side ran out 3-0 winners.

Morelos will now face a quick turnaround to get back for Rangers' clash with Celtic on April 3. He will likely be involved against Venezuela on March 30 before having to fly back to Glasgow.

On Morelos' snub last month Van Bronckhorst said: "Obviously you don’t want to lose players in the season but we have to respect the rules in the FIFA calendar.

"As a club, we cannot do anything. It is a pity for him, and also for us as a club, that he is not even in the squad.

"He has been two weeks away but not featured in the games. I don’t know if he will be in the squad for the Argentina game.

"To not have him in the squad and Morelos not having minutes with his country, it is very harsh. Especially for Morelos himself."
