THE international break offers Rangers a couple of free weeks ahead of the crucial run in domstically and on the European stage.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will release a host of key players for international duty and will be hoping for no injury worries ahead of the return to club action.

The two-legged Europa League quarter-final tie with Braga awaits alongside two clashes with Celtic - one in the league and one in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Here's today's Rangers news...

Connor Goldson targets flawless run in

CONNOR GOLDSON is under no illusions over just how important a month awaits Rangers after the international break.

It’ll be a hectic month, but is set up to be one which decides their season with crucial Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and Europa League fixtures on the calendar.

An Old Firm derby against Celtic kicks-off a relentless fixture-list with a trip to St Mirren sandwiched in-between the two-legged Europa League quarter-final tie with Braga.

Throw in another Celtic showdown at Hampden in the Scottish Cup final four and it’s a decisive matchlist awaiting Rangers on the return to club action next month.

With Rangers sitting just three points behind Celtic and with two powderkeg derby fixtures remaining in the league campaign the title race is set to go to the wire.

But the pressure of such an important month isn’t fazing Goldson who has set a target of a flawless run-in to the end of the season.

“We’ll have a good few days training this week and then have a bit of a break,” said Goldson of the international break before club competition takes over again.

“I think it will be needed. There were a lot of tough games over this month and a lot of tough games coming next month.

“But that’s why you’re at a big football club, for these tough games. We know what we need to put in.”

Celtic vs Rangers Sydney Super Cup latest

JIM WHITE has weighed in on the controversial plans for Celtic and Rangers to meet in the Sydney Super Cup in November.

Glasgow's big two have both confirmed their attendance for the friendly tournament that is set to take place during the Qatar World Cup.

Both sets of fans are furious with the proposed clash, and Rangers fans continued to vent their frustrations yesterday.

Supporters lobbed streamers and tennis balls onto the Dens Park surface as they faced off against Dundee, forcing referee Bobby Madden to halt play.

Discussing the stoppages on talkSPORT, White said: "It appears the protests continue to be in response to plans to play this friendly against Celtic in the Sydney Super Cup in November.

"When I was in Glasgow the other day for Rangers Aberdeen there were constant outbursts of fans chanting that Rangers and others were told where they could stick their Old Firm match in Australia.

"They're simply not having it, they don't want it. Even though James Bisgrove is on record saying, in terms of revenue, the finances it'll bring in is absolutely undeniable."

Kemar Roofe jokes over Sydney protest

KEMAR ROOFE poked fun at Rangers' fan protests against the club's participation in the Sydney Super Cup.

Referee Bobby Madden had to stop Sunday's game against Dundee after Gers fans bombarded the pitch with toilet rolls and then tennis balls and again at the start of the second half another wave of toilet rolls required a stoppage.

Chants from the travelling supporters suggested the disruptions were a protest against the proposed Rangers versus Celtic friendly in Australia in November.

Roofe was a second half substitute and he took to Instagram to joke about the stoppages.

He wrote: "Going into the International break with 3 points, a tennis ball and toilet roll.”
