MATT O'RILEY is back in Celtic training despite having limped off against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.

The midfielder came on for Tom Rogic just after the hour mark but was then replaced on 76 minutes after picking up a knock in a strong 50/50 challenge.

Greg Taylor was another who had to be replaced and Ange Postecoglou updated on the pair earlier this week.

He told Celtic TV: “They shouldn’t be too bad. Greg was just cramp. Matty got a bit of a decent knock.

“He probably could’ve soldiered on but with the game being as it is and we’ve got a bench now that can make a difference, we thought we would take him off and just protect him.”

The good news for Celtic fans is that O'Riley is back in training and looks to be available for St Johnstone this weekend.

Kyogo Furuhashi could also be involved after he was left out of last week's victory against Rangers.

Explaining his absence, Potecoglou added: “He’s such an important player for us and I thought today we could handle it without him.

“To be fair he tried everything. Everywhere I turned he popped up in front of me to make sure I knew he was ready to go. I couldn’t walk around Lennoxtown without seeing him!”
