IT was as close to a perfect afternoon as Ange Postecoglou could have asked for at Celtic Park.

Seven goals, six scorers, five subs and now a nine-point lead at the top of the table.

Celtic were at their best to claim a huge 7-0 win over relegation-threatened St Johnstone.

Here are the talking points from Celtic Park...

Squad goals in huge win

It would've been a difficult task to pick a man-of-the-match at Parkhead. There were so many top performances for Celtic.

A confident performance from the back four and Joe Hart was only bettered by a magnificent showing from the midfield and forward players.

Kyogo Furuhashi was excellent in his cameo appearance after returning from injury, Daizen Maeda was unplayable both on the wing and when switched into the centre.

Giorgos Giakoumakis got his goal, Jota was threatening down the wing. Tom Rogic, Calum McGregor and Reo Hatate were interchangeable in the middle of the park and sub Matt O'Riley put his stamp on the game with a double.

David Turnbull and Liel Abada also looked sharp coming off the bench as Ange Postecoglou was left with a positive selection dilemma for next week's Scottish Cup semi-final.

Massive result extends lead at top

Ange Postecoglou was asked if any complacency could seep in with a six-point lead at the top.

Today that question was emphatically answered as Celtic swept aside any suggestion of complacency with a massive victory.

The win takes the lead at the top to nine points over Rangers - with the Ibrox side to play St Mirren tomorrow.

Celtic were relentless at Parkhead and showed no signs of slipping up as the Scottish Premiership title race nears an end with just five matchday remaining.

Giakoumakis and Turnbull knocks

A magnificent day for Celtic was only slightly dampened by injuries to David Turnbull and Giorgos Giakoumakis.

The Greek striker fired home for Celtic in the first-half but had to be withdrawn with a suspected hamstring injury after 25 minutes.

It's a blow with the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers looming next week and Giakoumakis in an electric run of form.

David Turnbull was a second-half substitute coming on ten minutes after the break. But with just minutes left he walked off the pitch with a knock.
