KILMARNOCK suffered a blow in their bid to win the Championship title as they lost to Inverness.
The visitors deservedly went 1-0 up in the Highlands thanks to a lovely lobbed finish by centre-half Ash Taylor.
However, Billy Dodds’s men completely turned the game on its head in a five-minute period as they kept their hopes of finishing second alive and officially secured their play-off spot.
The impressive Logan Chalmers played a dangerous ball across the face for Billy McKay to stab home from point-blank range.
The on-loan Dundee United winner would then prove to be the match winner, as he mishit his shot into the bottom corner to evade Zach Hemming at his near-post.
It was a huge result for both teams, as Caley Thistle earned the three-points.
Kilmarnock have breathing space at the summit of the table, so despite the result, they still sit four-points clear of nearest challengers Arbroath.
However, with Arbroath playing Queen of the South at Gayfield today, they could move to within just one-point ahead of next week’s tasty title battle at Rugby Park next Friday night.
And while Killie won’t see it that way, it potentially blows the title race right open.
