LEGENDARY Rangers goalkeeper Andy Goram is undergoing treatment for cancer, the club tonight confirmed.

A social media statement this evening informed fans that Goram, 58, is receiving care at a local hospital.

The message, shared on official club media platforms, stated Rangers officials are in regular contact with both Goram and his family as he receives treatment.

Rangers chiefs went on to urge fans to give Goram and his loved ones privacy as requested by the family.

The statement read: "Rangers can confirm our legendary goalkeeper, Andy Goram, is undergoing treatment for cancer in a local hospital.

"Club officials are in regular contact with Andy and his family.

"The family have asked for privacy at this time.

"💙 Everyone at Rangers wishes “The Goalie” well at this difficult time."

Goram played 184 times for Rangers winning five top-flight tiles, three Scottish Cups and two league cup trophies. He was also part of the legendary nine-in-a-row Rangers side.

The Goalie also played 43 times for Scotland and featured in World Cup squads.
