NO SUSPECTS have been identified by Police Scotland following an investigation into alleged racist abuse aimed at Livingston star Ayo Obileye at Celtic Park earlier this season.
It was claimed back in October 2021 that a Celtic fan could be heard shouting a racial slur at the defender during a 0-0 draw between the sides.
A journalist attending the match within the crowd made the claims while attending the game.
After sharing videos from the match, including the penalty incident in which Obileye was sent off, they tweeted: "I heard a Celtic supporter call Livingston defender Ayo Obileye a 'monkey'. Depressing."
Both Celtic and Livingston launched investigations into the alleged abuse.
However, several months on, Police Scotland have been unable to find evidence surrounding the claim.
A Police Scotland statement reads: "Officers received a report of offensive comments made during a football match at Celtic Park Stadium on Saturday, 30 October, 2021.
"Extensive enquiries were carried out and no suspect has been identified.
"Any new information will be investigated thoroughly.
"Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 1097 of 2 November, 2021."
