FORMER Glasgow Warriors Managing Director Nathan Bombrys has been appointed Chief Executive of Rugby Canada.
Michigan-born Bombrys spent just under 10 years at Scotstoun before being replaced by former club captain Al Kellock last April. At that point he was handed the newly created role of ‘Head of International Projects’ for Scottish Rugby.
Bombrys will need to hit the ground running in Canada, with a recent independent report reaching a scathing verdict on the governing body’s recent performance.
“Without a strategy to guide it, Rugby Canada appears to be in a constant state of crisis and overall performance suffers as a result,” said the report. “The dysfunction of the system is ultimately a failure of leadership.”
