RICHARD FOSTER was hauled away from a spat with a fan during tonight's Championship clash between Ayr United and Partick Thistle.
The Jags defender was substituted just after the hour mark during the Championship encounter as Ian McCall's side lost 3-1.
Footage that circulated on social media showed fans venting their frustrations at half-time before Foster reacted and looked to approach one supporter.
The former Rangers and Aberdeen man was then pulled away from the situation by his teammates as they headed into the dressing room.
It's not the first time Foster has been caught up in controversy as the full-back most noticeably was involved in an onfield clash with his own teammate back in 2017.
The former St Johnstone defender went head to head with Danny Swanson during a league game against Hamilton before both players were shown red cards.
Tonight's victory for Ayr saw the club remain in the Championship as they succumbed Dunfermline to the relegation play-off spot.
Thistle are into the Premiership play-offs and take on Inverness on Tuesday night as they aim to make it back to Scotland's top division.
