SIR ALEX FERGUSON reckons Rangers have a 'great chance' of lifting the Europa League trophy after a stunning season in Europe.
The legendary Scots boss - speaking as he collected a Lifetime Achievement award from the Scottish Football Writers' Association - has been tuning into the Ibrox side's European endeavors all season.
And he's been mightily impressed as he branded displays from Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team on the European stage as "fantastic".
Rangers claimed a spot in the final - where they'll meet Eintracht Frankfurt - with victory over RB Leipzig at Ibrox on Thursday, but Ferguson reckons that was despite their worst performance in Europe so far.
So impressed has Ferguson been of the Europa League nights involving Rangers, that he reckons it was down to sheer "spirit and desire" instead of their best performance that the club progressed.
Giving his thoughts on Rangers' European journey this term, Sir Alex said: "I've been watching their games and they've been fantastic in Europe.
"In fact, I would say on Thursday, that was their worst performance but they had the spirit and the desire to get to the final.
"But their performances before that in - in Dortmund - have been absolutely brilliant.
"Now they are in the final and they have a chance, they have a great chance."
