SCOTT ARFIELD insists he and his team-mates can put Wednesday night's Europa League final defeat on penalties behind them to lift the Scottish Cup.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men took the lead in Seville through Joe Aribo in the second half before being pegged back by Eintracht Frankfurt and eventually losing via a shoot-out.

It was a dispiriting defeat for the players who had been dreaming of lifting European silverware but Arfield is adamant that the squad can shrug off that disappointment and finish the campaign on a high note at Hampden.

Asked what a victory on Saturday would mean to the club when speaking at a media conference on Friday, Arfield replied: "It would mean a lot as this trophy has been away from this club for a number of years and we want to bring it back.

"On Wednesday night it was pure disappointment, but we have to get over it for this cup final.

"It is all about being positive, Hearts have our full respect and have had a tremendous season so we have to be up for it.

"You are always under expectations here, we are fully focused on picking up this silverware.

"Football is a team sport but you are also all individuals, everyone has to make sure they are okay themselves and then pass it on to the group.

"Wednesday will hold a disappointment but we have to now move forward and end the season on a high.

"Hampden will be a completely different game from the last match, they have our respect and we will be fully prepared. We feel we can win every game we go into and Saturday is no different.

"You need to remember the bad feelings you have in football and use it for motivation to drive on to the positives."
