CALVIN RAMSAY is strongly linked with a move to Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp looks for a young prospect to back-up Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.

The 18-year-old played in just over half of Aberdeen’s games due to picking up a hamstring injury that saw him miss two months but, he has impressed when playing.

Ramsay picked up one goal and nine assists in all competitions from right back, and that has caught the eye of English giants Liverpool.

As current Liverpool back-up right-back Neco Williams looks likely to move on this summer, reports on both sides of the border say a bid of £4million is planned to bring Ramsay to the club.

This bid would include add-ons as Italian side Bologna recently had a bid of £4.8million rejected for the Scottish Football Writers Association Young Player of the Year.

Despite what would undoubtedly be the loss of a quality player, Aberdeen would likely be happy to take the cash boost to bolster their squad after a lacklustre finish just six points above the relegation play-offs.

Dons boss Jim Goodwin previously called the defender “one of the best young full-backs in the world,”.

This deal has been reported for some time now, and it is believed there could be major developments as early as this week.
