ALLAN MCGREGOR will extend his Rangers career and remain part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst's Ibrox squad next term.
The keeper has decided not to hang up his gloves this summer and will now battle Jon McLaughlin for the number one jersey in the coming months.
Boss Van Bronckhorst completed deals for experienced campaigners Scott Arfield and Steven Davis earlier this summer.
And the Dutchman received a huge boost ahead of the new season when Connor Goldson put pen-to-paper on a long-term contract with the Scottish Cup winners.
That victory over Hearts last month looked like being McGregor's farewell appearance for Rangers after he came off the bench for the closing stages at Hampden.
But the 40-year-old will now return for another crack at the Premiership title and the Champions League after confirming his desire to play on for the next 12 months.
