FOR Stiliyan Petrov it's an absolute must that Celtic sign Jota.

The former Parkhead star reckons Ange Postecoglou has to sign the winger on a permanent deal this summer.

Jota, 23, quickly made himself a fan-favourite at Celtic after his loan move from Benfica last summer.

And fans are desperate to see the Portugese winger join on a full-time basis with Celtic holding the option to buy Jota for £6.4million.

It's understood Jota will sign for Celtic in the coming days after the move was paused while the player took time out to holiday in the off-season.

However, Petrov reckons the sooner it's finalised the better as he insisted Jota gives Celtic a different edge to the team.

He told Sky Sports: “They have to, they have to (sign Jota). He was an important player last season, and he’s a huge favourite with the fans.

"I believe that they will get it over the line and he will be a part of that team again, because the excitement he brings into the team is different.

“He brings a different side when he plays to Celtic’s view altogether.

"So, it seems like they are going to get it over (the line). But it seems like it’s not done yet.”
