FORMER Hibernian, Falkirk and Rangers star Russell Latapy has been appointed assistant-manager at Australian club Macarthur FC.
The 53-year-old has been reunited Down Under with friend and compatriot Dwight Yorke, who was last month named as the A-League outfit’s new manager.
Latapy moved into coaching after hanging up his boots and, as well as a spell as boss of his native Trinidad and Tobago, has been a number two at Falkirk, Inverness Caley Thistle and Boavista.
The 53-year-old, who also had a short spell with Dundee United during his 11 years as a player in Scotland, was most recently manager of Barbados but resigned to pursue his move to Australia.
Sydney-based Macarthur finished seventh in the A-League last season.
A statement said: “The club would like to welcome Russell to the Bulls as we look forward to seeing him work alongside newly-appointed coach Dwight Yorke.”
