RANGERS are weighing up a £4million move for Besiktas left-back Ridvan Yilmaz, according to reports.

The 21-year-old, capped six times for the senior Turkish national team, is a product of the Istanbul club’s academy and has made 62 first-team appearances since making his debut in April 2019.

The Daily Mail report that Ibrox manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst is exploring a possible bid for the full-back, who has impressed in the Turkish Super Lig.

Van Bronckhorst has already recruited defensive reinforcements this summer after John Souttar joined on a free transfer from Hearts and Ben Davies joined from Liverpool on Monday.

Versatile defender Calvin Bassey, who impressed during Rangers’ run to the Europa League final last season, is expected to finalised a move to Dutch giants Ajax on Wednesday for a fee believed to be around £19.5m, rising to £22.5m with add-ons.

Defensive stalwart Connor Goldson, who was out of contract at the end of last season, committed his future to the Glasgow club by signing a four-year extension last month.
