GIOVANNI van Bronckhorst has delivered a 'hopeful' injury update on Alfredo Morelos' Ibrox comeback.
The Colombian striker was ruled out of the final stages of last season after a thigh injury required surgery.
However, last week he was back training with his Rangers team-mates during an open day for supporters at Ibrox.
Quizzed on Morelos' progress in a return to action this afternoon, Van Bronckhorst was hopeful.
While refusing to put an official timescale on a comeback the Rangers boss remains optimistic Morelos will be back "really soon".
The striker has been included in Rangers' European squad for the Champions League qualifiers with a third qualifiying round double-header against Union Saint-Gilloise coming up next month.
Responding to a question on Morelos during today's press conference, Van Bronckhorst said: "Hopefully Morelos will be involved really soon.
"He is named in our European squad."
