KILMARNOCK have further bolstered their ranks this summer.

Ahead of tomorrow's trip to Ibrox to face Rangers, Killie have announced the loan signing of Jeriel Dorsett.

The 20-year-old defender joins for the 2022/23 season from Reading.

He's fresh off the back of a successful loan last term at Rochdale, where he made 45 appearances.

Dorsett was even voted the club's young player of the year.

He predominantly plays in the left of a back three, however, is believed to be capable of filling in at full-back.

The Englishman said: “I’m excited to be here, I can’t wait to get started, I had a conversation with the gaffer on the phone and he was really keen to get me in, believing I can improve myself and help the team out which is all I want to do.

“I see myself as a quick, strong player, I like to command things and enjoy the communication, I really don’t ever stop talking.

"I think I can make a difference to the team and add some composure, hopefully I can prove that out on the pitch”.

Killie have plenty of options in defence now, with Ash Taylor, Joe Wright, Lewis Mayo, Chris Stokes, Ryan Alebiosu, Dylan McGowan and now Dorsett all competing for the centre-back positions.
