JUDE BELLINGHAM was taken aback by the atmosphere at Ibrox last season when Rangers put Borussia Dortmund to the sword in the Europa League.

After his side was knocked out of Europe's second-tier competition he was quick to salute the Rangers support for creating a special atmosphere.

He said: "It was brilliant to play here of course, it’s a brilliant atmosphere, a good team, a good test. We couldn’t do it. It is what it is.

“It was the worst time for half-time to come. Our momentum was gone. We came out and we didn’t have that bite we had in the first half and when you are pushing for a goal, there will always be spaces in behind us.

"Rangers have pace and really good quality, and they were always going to get in.

"It was one of those nights - we didn't take all our chances and Rangers took theirs. Fair play to them.

“It’s a massive disappointment. I feel like we have let the fans and staff down. We have put a lot into this trying to win the tie and we could have done more. That’s the thing that kills you in football.

“I tried to take responsibility, get on the ball and get us playing. I scored the goal but it’s just my job. I want to help the club win games but I haven’t done it tonight so it’s a failure.”

Bellingham has continued his love affair with Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side after responding to a post from captain James Tavernier.

The Ibrox skipper registered his 350th appearance for the Light Blues against Kilmarnock on Saturday and he shared some snaps from the game on his Instagram.

Bellingham responded to the post with a fire emoji simply stating 'player' in his comment.
