MANCHESTER UNITED will be made to wait to sign PSV star Cody Gakpo.

It's reported that the Dutch side have told their golden boy that he's going nowhere before their Champions League play-off with Rangers.

The 23-year-old is the subject of serious interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

Yesterday, it was established that Manchester United will move their efforts to sign The Netherlands international after giving up on deals for Marko Arnautovic and Antony.

Arsenal and Leeds are also credited with interest.

However, the Daily Record say that Gakpo has been told that his move will not be sanctioned before Eindhoven's double-header against Rangers.

PSV defeated Monaco to reach the play-off round stage, while Rangers overturned Union Saint-Gilloise.

Gakpo is regarded as one of Europe's top emerging talents.

Erik ten Hag knows him well from his experience of managing in the Eredivisie.

Gakpo recently commented about his immediate future.

He said: “We must first focus on the second leg against Monaco and try to make it to the Champions League. Then it is more likely I will stay.

"I don’t think I have said anywhere I am leaving, so there is a chance I will stay.”
