BILLY GILMOUR has been urged to reunite with former boss Frank Lampard at Everton to get his career "back on track".

The Scotland international was handed his Chelsea debut under Lampard before being shipped out on loan to Norwich last season.

The youngster struggled in a difficult season at The Canaries with the club relegated from the Premier League.

And Gilmour has not been involved for Chelsea yet this season with speculation over a loan move growing.

For ex-Rangers ace Andy Halliday, Gilmour must join Everton under Lampard to return to form and reignite his career.

The Hearts midfielder reckons there is no question over Gilmour's quality but suggests a loan switch could help Gilmour massively after a tough time at Norwich.

Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, Halliday explained: "Everton is the exact move that Billy Gilmour needs to make to get his career back on track.

"Frank Lampard gave him his debut at "Chelsea and has a lot of trust in him whilst also knowing the ability he has.

"We've seen players have bad loan spells before and still come back and play really well.

"There's no doubt in Billy's quality and I think there's no better loan move to make than reuniting with Lampard at Everton."
