ANGE POSTECOGLOU has insisted Celtic are still active in the transfer market as he predicted a "pretty hectic" final few weeks of the window.

Ahead of the thumping win over Kilmarnock, the Celtic boss confirmed he's still looking to strengthen "one or two areas" of his squad.

And he also admitted out-of-favour players could leave Parkhead in a busy closing period to the summer transfer window.

The Celtic boss has already completed permanent deals for Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Daizen Maeda this summer.

He also added Alexandro Bernabei, Aaron Mooy, Benji Siegrist and Moritz Jenz to his Celtic squad.

But he had hinted there could be another couple of incomings - as well as outgoings - at Celtic Park in the coming weeks.

In his press call before the Kilmarnock win, Postecoglou explained: "In terms of incomings we are still active.

“There's one or two areas that I would like to bring in but it has to be the right sort of players. We are definitely still active and looking at what options may be available.

"In general, I think this transfer window is going to be pretty hectic in the last couple of weeks.

"I suggest there could be some opportunities there for us and in terms of outgoings there are players who aren't getting a lot of opportunities."

The Celtic boss was also quizzed on possible moves for Mikey Johnston and Albian Ajeti after links with exits this summer.

He said: “I am not having discussions with anyone on a daily basis on what their future should be, that's really up to them.

“I am not one to try and convince people to stay and I am not going to persuade anyone to go but the reality is there that some people will get less opportunities and if that's not sufficient for them then they can explore other opportunities.”
