ANGE POSTECOGLOU has been made the shock bookies favourite to become the next Brighton manager.

The Celtic boss was named among possible candidates for the Premier League post with current manager Graham Potter heavily linked with the vacant Chelsea position.

Thomas Tuchel was relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge with Potter the immediate favourite to make the switch to London.

And as a result, odds on the next Brighton boss have been rapidly shifting throughout the day with Posetcoglou now the favourite.

The Celtic manager had been considered an outsider for the Chelsea role being priced at 28/1 with SkyBet earlier this afternoon.

But now, Betfair have made Postecoglou the favourite to take over at the AMEX Stadium, priced at 5/1.

Kjetil Knutsen is priced similarly at 6/1 to take over the Premier League job with Thomas Frank back at 15/2.

While Postecoglou has been made the bookies favourite, Celtic hero Chris Sutton insists he wouldn’t ‘downgrade’ to Brighton.

On Twitter, Sutton commented: “Ange Postecoglou will be linked with managerial jobs in the Premier League and I’m sure will eventually go down south but he’s only just got started at Celtic and he’s building something special.

"He certainly wouldn’t downgrade to a club Brighton’s size just yet… why would he?"
