KIERAN TIERNEY has revealed he is taking tips from Celtic full-back Greg Taylor as he adapts to a new position at Arsenal.

The Scotland international is being asked to play as an inverted full-back under Mikel Arteta and has called upon Taylor for advice.

It's a role reversal for the pair with Taylor once following Tierney's footsteps at Parkhead to now being the one offering the advice to his Scotland team-mate.

Taylor - who made a substitute appearance in the 3-0 win over Ukraine - has excelled in an inverted role under Ange Postecoglou at Parkhead.

And Tierney has admitted he's watching Taylor's every move for Celtic as he aims to improve in his new adapted position at the Emirates.

Speaking after the Nations League win over Ukraine, Tierney explained: “He’s been brilliant, inverted full-back, and that’s how we are playing down there, so I’m watching him every week trying to take tips from him.

“And it’s been brilliant to see him doing well because he’s a great guy. I’m really close to him, I speak to him a lot, so I’m buzzing for him.

“We watch each other’s games and always text each other after games.

“It’s a new role for me and a role he is really comfortable in."

Taylor was brought to Celtic in 2019 as Tierney left the club for a move to the Premier League.

Now, Tierney reckons Taylor is one of the standout performers as he showered praise on his Parkhead replacement.

He added: “It’s great to watch him, he has been one of Celtic’s best players this season.

“Greg’s attitude is brilliant and I’m delighted to see him doing so well, a great guy who deserves all the credit he is getting just now.”
