JACK ROSS was among the first to congratulate Liam Fox upon his official appointment as Dundee United boss.

Fox was Ross' assistant at Tannadice before permanently replacing the ex-Hibs gaffer last week.

The Terrors are bottom of the table, so Fox has his work cut out as he officially sinks his teeth into the job following impressing club chiefs during his caretaker charge.

And while Fox is only looking forward, he revealed that there's certainly no hard feelings from Ross towards him.

He told  Sky Sports: "First of all, Jack is a top guy and a good manager. He will bounce back, there's no doubt about it.

"I spoke to Jack regularly all the way through (the interview process), and he was actually one of the first people to congratulate me on the job. That speaks volumes about Jack."
