RANGERS have been dealt a major injury blow with Tom Lawrence sustaining a new injury.

The midfielder had been recovering from a knock but has now been hit with a further knock.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst today revealed Lawrence is being assessed over the new injury he sustained in training this week.

But the Rangers boss has warned it could be months before Lawrence is back in contention instead of weeks.

Now, it's hoped Lawrence will be fully fit and back in contention after the World Cup which concludes in mid-December.

Van Bronckhorst commented: "Tom will be a big miss.

"He's made a huge impact since joining us.

"He has great ability. But our squad is full of depth and others will come in.

"Hopefully he'll be fully fit after the World Cup."
