RANGERS chairman Douglas Park has snubbed an invitation from Club 1872 to address concerns over key Ibrox matters.

The influential supporter organisation extended an invitation to Park several weeks ago after confirming former chairman Dave King will attend a question and answer session in Glasgow.

That event will take place on Monday, November 21 as King prepares to field queries over issues on and off the park just a fortnight before the RIFC plc AGM.

Club 1872 reached out to Park to give him the same opportunity to address members but have yet to receive a response from the businessman.

Park has come under increasing pressure from fans in recent weeks as punters have expressed their concerns over how Rangers are being run at boardroom level and the fortunes of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side in the Champions League and Premiership title race.

A statement from Club 1872 read: “Unfortunately our invitation to Rangers Chairman, Douglas Park to speak to our Contributors at a similar Q&A has gone unanswered.

“We have had no response to that invitation and no acknowledgement of the request.

“Now, more than ever, we believe that Mr Park should be making himself available to speak directly to supporters and answer their questions about the future of the club.

“We would remind Mr Park that being a custodian of our great club comes with a responsibility to be open, honest and communicative with supporters.

“We would also, once again, urge the Rangers Board to reverse their policy of non-engagement and non-cooperation with Club 1872 and to take the steps necessary to start rebuilding the trust and confidence that has been lost over the past years.

“We remain open to immediate dialogue with the board as a major shareholder to try to improve the situation at the club, which is worsening on a weekly basis.”
