DAVID MARTINDALE appears to be a popular choice among Rangers fans to become the club's next manager.

Some fans have called for the Livingston boss to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst at the helm of Ibrox.

The Dutchman is under growing pressure from supporters, with several groups calling for him to be removed from his position following a poor string of results and performances.

Rangers lost 2-1 to St Johnstone on Sunday in what ultimately was a bitter blow to their title hopes, as the result left them seven points behind Celtic.

And some Rangers fans featuring on Clyde Superscoreboard want Martindale to be appointed in place of Van Bronckhorst.

One supporter called to claim that the Lions gaffer, partnered with Kenny Miller as his assistant, would get the Ibrox club back on track.

The pair worked together briefly at the Tony Macaroni, but with Miller as manager.

He appeared on SSB as a pundit tonight. And he responded: "One thing is for sure, he's doing a brilliant job at Livingston. Is that going to be the job to get him the Rangers job? I would have to say no."
